Canterbury Brewers wins national beer award

Canterbury Brewers based at the Foundry Brew pub are celebrating after winning a silver award for Foundry Red Rye at the SIBA BeerX National keg beer competition for Strong Bitters and Pale Ales which was held in Sheffield. The trade show and beer festival is the UK’s biggest craft brewing exhibition, with thousands of brewers, international buyers and beer drinkers attending throughout the week.

Jon Mills of Canterbury Brewers said it was great for the only brewery within the City walls of Canterbury to win a national award. We are constantly producing high quality craft beers and It’s good to be judged against your peers and that this award was recognition for all the passion and hard work of the brewers and staff at Canterbury Brewers.

Canterbury Brewers has been producing great beer for just four years and after winning various regional awards this is the first time that we have won a National Award. Foundry Red Rye which won the award is a stunning red beer which delivers an explosion of hops with spice from the rye malt and great flavour and aroma from the Citra, Centennial and Chinook hops. Foundry Red Rye can be found at the City Arms in Butchery Lane or The Foundry Brew pub in Whitehorse Lane where Foundry Red Rye is brewed.
